The Academy learned from DAP's Mindanao office how to set itself up as an institution, and DAP sa Mindanao and the Academy ran a training of trainers in records management.

DAP, the Academy's national counterpart, has helped it grow as an institution and train others.
In July 2019, the Academy's team visited DAP Mindanao to learn its best practices, challenges and plans, and to think about how the Academy would set itself up under the new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. In August 2022, the Academy and the Technical Management Service of the Office of the Chief Minister visited DAP in Pasig to share best practices, knowledge management experiences and strategic foresight.
At the World Bank's knowledge management workshop for the Academy's staff in May 2022, the Vice President and Managing Director of DAP sa Mindanaw shared DAP's experience.
In June 2022, the Academy and DAP sa Mindanao held a three-day training of trainers on records management in Davao City, so the Academy could offer records management training and technical assistance to BARMM ministries, offices and agencies.
In August 2024, the Academy visited DAP during a study tour in Manila on curriculum design and training materials. A facilitator from DAP then helped finalise the curriculum of the Academy's first Leadership and Management Short-Term Course, whose facilitators the Academy trained in December 2024.
